I met Jay 2 times and he was so awesome.  What a helper he was to us....

Heather, keep strong girl.  You know you can make it.  I lost my mom to cancer and took a month off from work to care for her when no one would (blasted family of mine).  Just think of your life now, moving on and how thankful you can be for your little girl and your wife,  and how proud you can be of your pop, dad or daddy..whatever you call him...just call him out loud and he'll hear you girl.  KUDOS GIRL!!!  Both Donna and I are here for you... Tell Joanne we said HI.  We admire both of you...

By the way...we are moving to Texas in a few months so if you need a place to stay....let us know.

Hugs to all of you...

I'll miss you Dad  / JoAnn Reese (Daughter-in-Law)
Only the good die young… sounds kind of cliché… but in this instance it is all to true. Jason Reese was only 52. While his death brings a great sorrow to all the people whose life he touched so deeply, his memory will live on. Yes his time with us was too brief but I feel truly blessed to have known him, to be accepted in his family, and to be loved as a daughter by him. We spent many amazing times together as a family… He lovingly walked his daughter Heather down the isle at our commitment ceremony and gave her hand to me. He was the proud grandpa all during Heather’s pregnancy helping us get the babies room decorated and once our little BrookeLyn arrived he gave her all the love & support a person could ask for. Teaching her and watching her for Heather & I giving us time alone… Oh how he just loved his granddaughter. He was happy. We went on trips together and he got to see his daughter Heather graduate college. These are just some of the memories I have of him but there are so many more and it goes without saying that we all do and there will be a void in our lives and that he will be missed. But for his sake we will go on doing all the things we normally do to fill the hours of our own remaining days. At times we will reflect and may shed a tear but I’m sure he would want us to be happy and when we need him he will be here with us reaching out his hand in comfort. Cause in the end of our days we will all meet again… he’ll be waiting for us in the sky.

I'm so sorry that your world came crashing down around you. You were too young to lose your dad, and he was too young to go.
I know we talked about how heartbreaking it is to think about Brookie growing up without grandpa. I know this hurts. We made a special framed "scrapbook page" with embellishments and added a picture in 5X7 of Maxine (donna's mom) holding maggie after she was just born. This hangs at the foot of Maggie's bed on the wall. Every nite Maggie talks about the picture and asks about her Grandma and we tell her stories. She remembers the stories and later talks about them with a smile on her face. Its our responsibility to keep people we love alive by sharing their story with others. I can't even imagine how bad you must be hurting, friend, and I'm so sorry. I hope that you can keep your dad's memory alive by telling stories to Brookie and making sure she knows what a wonderful man he is and how much he loves her.
Hugs to you and your family,
Rae (and family) Close
