Hello Dad I miss you  / Heather (Daughter)

Hey Daddy
I miss you more and more all of the time. It has been two years and I do not think it has gotten easier I just try to push it aside so I can get things done. Well I took my LSAT and I now just get to wait and see if I did well enough for a law school I will find out around next weekend but I am sure you already know how I did. I am almost done with my BSB/PA. BrookeLyn is very smart and in school now. She can sing all of her ABC’s and can count from 1-10, and 20-30. She is still working on 11-19 (it’s the hardest parts you know..lol. She can also do her attendance at school, she says every day “Yes I am here, I am a girl, My Birthday is April 24th 2005”. Very smart I tell you. Devin Jay is just as smart. He is already counting from 1-10 I have no clue how that happen but it has. He is being a bugger trying to potty train but I figure it is just the way he is and may not be fully ready yet. On another note I have lost 30lbs is 3 months. I am very proud of myself and I plan on keep going until I get where I need to be. We are also going to WDW again this year same time. It should be interesting seeing that Devin is going to have to sit in a seat on the plane this year.. We will see how that goes but he does love planes. Oh, I got my Motorcycle license and I am looking into getting my pilots license after I finish law school. I want to see how many licenses I can get..lol Anyways I love you and I miss you a ton. Brookie and Devin love and miss you as well.

I'm thinking of you today... On this day you went away.  I made you a promise that I have kept... our family is strong and yet... I'm thinking you're helping keep us protected from above.  I know you'd be proud of us and all we've accomplished and done.  The kids are well and Brookie remembers much more then we give her credit about this time 2 yrs ago.  Sometimes riding my bike I look up to the sky and ask you to help watch over me so I can get home safe to the family... It's your Birthday and today just like many days you are thought of and I can't help but smile and be greatful for the time we had together and wish there had been more time.  We watched the 4th of July video the other day and it brought back tears of joy as we remembered the day.  It's just not the same with you not here but I know your watching over us to make sure we are safe and taken care of and I feel better knowing that.  Love JoAnn Close

Jay was a great guy who always went out of his way to help others and he will be missed. Heather I am so glad he got to know Brooklyn! Heather he  loved you so much!!! Daddy's lil girl....that's a title that only a real dad deserves.....he definately earned his wings! The picture's of him with Brooklyn at Disneyland are so awesome and she brought great pride and happiness to him! A caring and loving person  / Don &. Stacey Barnes (Step Brother )
 We are very sad to hear of the passing of Jay. I have not seen him for a number of years until around September when POP was very ill. The best one of those days was when Jay and myself watched a ball game with POP at his death bed. We had so much fun POP was actually rolling with laughter over past stories that we were talking about. Most of the stories were about how stupid each of us were to each other in the past. We cleared alot of air between us and we were laughing so hard at each other just about to tears. 

  Jay was like a true blood brother to me even though we didn't become step brothers I think I was 7 or 8 years of age around 1977. His family and him would always do there best to help me out like family should. When I became older and lived behind them he would lend me a couple of bucks if he had it. I just remember his family and him being there to help me out if they could which they didn't have much either. This makes the help they gave to me mean even that much more.

I'm sorry to have heard about Uncle Jay. Even though I hadn't seen him in ages and that my Auntie and he weren't together he will always be my uncle Jay. I have found memories of when I was a child and my family and I or me by myself would come to California. Uncle Jay and Auntie Kathy took me to Knots Berry Farm, Disneyland, and so many other places. I remember drinking iced coffee with him because the water was "yukey", I remember the stinky smell of LA when he picked me up at the airport. I remember going on my fist cessna ride with your Grandpa and my parents to the island for Buffalo burgers. I remember going with him to his work for the newspaper on one of my visits. (Go figure, I delivered for some time too.) He always had kind of a quirky smile and laugh that seemed to draw you to him. I remember the first time I let him cut my hair. He did a pretty good job too.  There are so many memories that I have of him and they will stay with me for always.  
Auntie Kathy, Heather and family. Just know that because he believed in the Lord Jesus Christ that he was saved and we will one day seet him again. He is in a better place that I can only dream about right now.

Dearest Heather & Family;
   I know that this is all hard right now. But I firmly believe that God had a plan for your Dad and his walk here was done. We may not agree or understand how that can be, but I believe it's true. I also believe that God has something else for him to do in his kingdom. I know that your Dad will always be around in spirit and that you can always still talk to him. If & when God feels he needs to communicate things to you it will happen.
   I know that your Dad, loved you very much from the moment he knew you existed. You were, are and always will Daddy's Little Girl. I praise you for your strength in dealing with all you had to during this trying time, but I believe that God gives us the strength we need when thngs seem so impossible to handle and we seem lost for understanding.
    Try hard to cherish & remember the happy & fun times. Gain strength from the hard times and know you are never alone, even when it seems you are because your Dad will always be in your heart forever.

I knew Jay for over 30 years & I will miss him dearly but I know in my heart that he is in a better place where he no longer hurts. For that I am greatful. As I think back I will remember Jay I will remember the good times, his smile, the way his eyes sparkled, the fun we had when we went dancing, thats the things I want to remember.             HEATHER, I know its really hard right now but in time it will get alittle easier.Dad is in a better place now honey he doesn't have to hurt anymore. Heather, I am so truly sorry for your loss.  I too have lost my father and one of the best memories I have of him is sitting on his lap after dinner when he would read the paper.  I felt so safe sitting there cradled in his arms.  Sometimes when I think of that time, I get really sad and I miss him more than usual but if I am quiet, and if I try, I can feel his spirit loving me just the same as he did then.  When you feel lost and your heart is breaking, stop a minute and feel his spirit enfolding you.  Know that you are still safe in your daddy's arms and that you are loved.
